On March 18th Purpleaura dreamt of sirens, Al Qaeda and Martians which prompted me to think of the song Life on Mars? As I listened to the song and read the lyrics, some of the words stood out that didn’t really pack any punch with me prior to that.
But the film is sadd'ning bore
For she's lived it ten times or more
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on
Sailors
Fighting in the dance hall
Oh man
Look at those cavemen go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man
Wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show

This is a good example to demonstrate why I believe certain musical artists know the future or were shown the future and it manifested itself in song. This is how they get the word out. And in my opinion David Bowie is among the top five of the greatest musical prophets ever. I also believe they have had more than their fair share of close encounters and perhaps received their inspiration from “other” sources. It’s no accident Bowie played Tesla in The Prestige, of that I am certain.
Since Purpleaura’s dream I have listened to that song, laughed at that picture, and read the dream and lyrics over and again. Something was nagging at me. It looked to me like perhaps another diversion was in the making. You watch those sailors over there while we yard apes get on with other matters over here. That got me thinking about the Wizard of Oz and the Emerald City. I always thought Dublin was considered the Emerald City but further investigation shows Washington D.C. is one of the cities known as the Emerald City:
Scholars who interpret The Wizard of Oz as a political allegory see the Emerald City as a metaphor for Washington, D.C. and unsecured "greenback" paper money. In this reading of the book, the city's illusory splendor and value is compared with the value of paper money, which also has value only because of a shared illusion or convention.

In light of the new developments in the British sailor saga, I’m thinking parts of this dream were literal and to-the-point. Except the sailors aren’t the diversion as I first suspected, they’re the whole cause of the sirens and the shit hitting the fan.
Bush Says Iran Must Release Captured U.K. Sailors (Update1)

March 31 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said Iran's seizure of 15 British sailors and marines in the Persian Gulf is "inexcusable'' and the U.S. stands behind the U.K. government in its attempts to resolve the standoff.
"The Iranians must give back the hostages,'' Bush told reporters after meeting with Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at Camp David, the presidential retreat in rural Maryland. The U.K. personnel are "innocent, they did nothing wrong and they were summarily plucked out of the water.''
Bush, making his first public comments on the situation, said he backs British Prime Minister Tony Blair's efforts to settle the situation "peacefully.''
